Guys; it’s already April…. we’re already in the fourth month of 2018 & I have done zilch. I swear time moves faster as you get older & actually need to utilise it. I’m yet to take a driving lesson, my vegan diet is going downhill & I haven’t implemented any of the blogging aims I had. On the other hand I have discovered a few beauty bits along the way from the likes of Birchbox & other blogger so here’s a favourites so far.
To kick off with I’ve actually implemented a pretty good skincare routine in my life & I do stick to it especially on makeup days. I’ve discovered new products that have really given my skin a boost.
First is drops of youth by the body shop which is the concentrate version. We all know that I love an oil product now days & well this one of the thicker products in my collection. It’s also one of the more expensive but it was worth the cost. It gives my skin that boost it really needs & even though it does sit on the skin & feel a lot heavier than other products I have it really penetrates & work magic. I’m not one for anti-ageing products at my age but it’s one product I thought was worth a try & has really added to my skincare regime.
Next it’s face masks which I’m loving much more than usual. I have a couple of liz Earle masks which I’ll feature later but I received samples in my Birchbox & I’m definitely going to repurchase them. One is the Blaq mask which is designed to unblock your pores & remove blackheads. I feel like it’s really done the job & I’ve been using it on key areas like my t-zone & chin. It is a messy product & it does leave me looking very red but it does unclog my pores so its worth it.
The other is a sample of the Glamglow super mud which is a bloggers favourite. I did want to try their range because I’ve been hearing great things so when I saw this in my box I was very excited. It’s really easy to apply with a brush & it leaves my skin feeling really fresh. It’s great for combatting oiliness & even though it does feel a little harsh on my sensitive skin it doesn’t leave any damage. I’m keen to try more from their range now I know the results are worth the price tag.
Another product I got from blogger recommendations is the Ordinary high-spreadability fluid primer which is working wonders when it comes to applying my foundation. I actually used a bloggers review to determine which primer to use & opted for the spreadability over adherence option. It has a silicone feel to it so it may not be for everyone but it means my Kat Von D lock it foundation goes on perfectly. I feel like it’s the perfect base for full coverage foundation.
I also received the Amika blowout spray in my Birchbox & even though it didn’t get me excited its really won me over. I use it every time I blow-dry my hair as a heat protector & I love it. It was so handy to have when I discovered there was no conditioner in our cottage the first evening because my hair was terrible to blow dry. This tiny bottle saved my hair from ripping out of my head. Their range looks really good so I may invest in a few more products in the future.
Lastly is an old favourite of mine which I’ve rediscovered as of late; the OPI rapidry top-coat. I’m a pretty lazy person when it comes to doing my own nails. Go figure hey! But I do have my own routine. First is Sally Hansen’s strengthening polish, then obviously the nail colour of my choice & then the rapidry. It just makes life easy!
So there is my favourites so far & I would love to know yours too! Let me know in the comments if you have any items that have won you over. Hopefully next month I’ll start implementing my goals for this year but only time will tell. Also I’m praying we start seeing spring sometime soon because I just want to wear skirts & leather jackets again instead of having a hoody with me at all times. Any one else bored of this weather too?
