It’s time to talk Subscription Boxes

subscription boxes- flatlayIts time to talk about Birchbox; am I still feeling the hype of monthly samples or am I falling out of love with subscription boxes & what they entail? Over the past few months you’ve seen me review the odd box & I’m pretty sure you can get if I’m loving the samples or not quite fussed. Luckily I haven’t spammed you each & ever month because it’s not a blog series I’m featuring or something I’m opting to do.

However I’ve had a couple of months where I’ve been thinking am I just wasting money on products I wouldn’t consider or use?

subscription boxes- product close upDeciding to subscribe to Birchbox was one of those on a whim kinda things & tbh I don’t regret it too much. I decided it was going to my treat every month; just something small that wasn’t going to break the bank. Birchbox has delivered on that & I have discovered some really lovely brands along the way.

On the other hand I’ve also had a few boxes where I thought what the hell? Are they even reading my beauty profile or is it there for fun? It’s safe to say I don’t need anymore hair products that aren’t suitable or any tanning products at all. I’m rather happy being a pale ghost over here thanks.

A few of the boxes have been pretty similar in what they deliver & even though the monthly designs are beauts sometimes they don’t correlate with the products. A theme is a theme at the end of the day & you’d want the products to go along with that.

I did consider cancelling my membership & I’m not going to lie I started reading their Instagram comments & well I think a lot of people were thinking the same. I’m pretty lucky to say I’ve never had any problems with their service; I’ve just not liked a few products.

Luckily my march Birchbox won me back over & I received a bunch of skincare that really appealed to me. I’m all for trying new face masks & well you can’t go wrong with a charcoal mask can you?

I’ve decided to give Birchbox a second chance & I’m looking forward to seeing what April brings. I can’t say I’ve totally falling out of love because some of the samples I’ve received have become favourites of mine. I’ve definitely implemented a few in my daily routines so subscription boxes have definitely helped me discover brands I would never have found otherwise.

Do you subscribe to any other boxes that you’d think would be suitable to my needs? I’m definitely hoping to try a new subscription or two. I’ve got my eye on a perfume one which I think would be right up my street!

Shelley xx

I quite like the Sephora Play Box, but some months I also feel a bit disappointed. But then some months are amazing, and include products I am so excited to try!
